First post here in the "blogosphere".
Wish me luck!
This is a blog for my opinions, musings, and general observations concerning the world of hard rock and heavy metal. I know what you're thinking: Just what everyone needs, another guy pushing 40 with an opinion about music!
A little about me:
I was a lifetime resident of the Boston area until about a year ago when I moved to Philly to be with my wife.
I have been a musician for about 3/4 of my life. I tired the whole "rock star" thing with varying degrees of success over the years. I have written & recorded many songs, have performed on many stages but, ultimately, was not able to make a living at it, but it's probably for the best. I do still play, and do so mainly for enjoyment.
Like all serious music fans, I have what I feel is a fair breadth of knowledge about the music I so dearly love. I have a great appreciation for people like Eddie Trunk, who I feel is like the brother I never had. Like him, I am an honest person who feels very strongly about this music and what makes it great, and not so great.
This is a little experiment to see how things go.
In the coming days, I'll be posting my opinions on subjects such as Ozzy suing Tony Iommi, the current state of Kiss, Ronnie James Dio's fight with cancer, and baby-boomer rock crowds.
Oh, this is going to be fun!
